I lost a friend today...Actually she passed away a week ago, but I just found out tonight. She was in her early 40's with two foster children whom she adored. I will miss her terribly.

I'm happy to say, the wedding went without a hitch...sort of...they did get hitched. (a little pun there...hee hee). I'll have photos when they get back from a mini-honeymoon, hopefully by Wednesday or Thursday.

WEDDING BELLS ARE IN THE AIR!!!!!!

Okay, I couldn't wait...

Ivan and Yadi are getting married....ON FRIDAY!!! I can hardly wait.

For those of you who don't know, Ivan works for Jed. I believe his title is Bookkeeper, but he is much more than that to me.

He is a handsome, 24 year old, with the personality of an Angel. He has taught me about tolerance and patience, the love of family, and the importance of friends. We are proud to call him our friend!!!

To say I am thrilled that he is getting married is putting it mildly...I am ecstatic!!! Yadi is a beautiful, loving girl, and I don't think he could have chosen a more perfect person to be by his side. I wish the two of them every happiness and I hope they have tons of kids for their parents (all of us) to play with.

This is my sincere wish for you, Ivan...

I love you very much...

HAPPY MONDAY!!!

Howdy folks...Guess what? I'm a happy camper. I was a little perplexed as to why I only lost 1 pound in a week, for two straight weeks. I was reading something about your body going into starvation mode and one way to stop that, is to eat more every third day. So last week I tried it. Maybe I was going to lose more anyway, but I lost 2 pounds this week, and I am attributing it to this new eating pattern.

I am increasing the speed every day starting at my Monday MPH and going up one level every day. Every Monday I will increase my starting MPH until I am at 4 MPH for 1 week. Then I will decide what to do next. I have a bad back, so I have to go slowly, watch what is happening to my back and keep going. Also, I noticed, I burn less calories, the less I weigh, so it is going to be even harder when I get close to my goal. Sorry to bore you with this, I know I promised I wouldn't but this is my life right now.

THE LIGHTS ARE OUT AND EVERYBODIES HOME

Last night our lights went out, not just ours, but the entire building. Of course, we couldn't find the flashlight right away, and the only candles I could find was a little one in the bathroom. I opened all the drapes and the full moon helped us to see. After about a 10 minute search, I found the flashlight in, of all places, the utility drawer. That will teach me for putting things where they belong.

Anyway, I thought we were going to use the flashlight to get around, but Jed had other plans. He hoarded it and used it to read. Man, was he funny looking, a grown man reading with a flashlight!!!! I got bored with nothing to do and no one to talk to, so I crashed on the couch. When I woke up, around 10:30, all the lights in the house were on, and Jed was asleep in his chair with the flashlight still in his hand....
HE IS STILL SOOOOO CUTE!!!

Yesterday was a very busy day for me. Up at 4:30 to walk on the treadmill and then I started to get the apartment ready for Easter. Our family from Chicago is coming and since it takes me FOREVER to do things, I figured I better start now. I'll take photos when I'm finished. Easter is my favorite holiday...a new beginning!!!! All the pretty flowers and Spring in the air...love it, love it, love it.

HOME AND HEART

I heard from an old friend today. One of two school chums I keep in touch with, from my home town in Florida. I know I must be homesick because just yesterday, I did a google drive-by of the street where I was raised and then my old school and all around town.

I've been back there a few times, and I am always amazed at how it has changed. It seems to have gone down with the economy. What once was a beautiful tree-lined town, with lots of charm, is now a bit run down and looks like any other small southern town...complete with its' own Walmart. HOW SAD! Still, it's where I grew up, where I always referred to as "Home". After all this time, I now realize, home is truely where the heart is, and mine is here.

ANOTHER MONDAY, ANOTHER POUND!!

Jed and I had a nice, peaceful weekend, snuggled on the couch watching old movies and reading. Two days of Bliss...

You would think that after so long, we would get tired on one another, but we still prefer each others' company and spending time together is still great fun.

On another subject, I must tell you about my new toy. I purchased an HP computer some time ago which has a built in camera. I haven't been too excited about it because I didn't have anyone to play with. Well, my son got a webcam and I have been speaking to my 10 year old Grandson in North Carolina. It is soooo cool!!! And he is soooo sweet. I just love to see the little thing pop up to say he is on the line. What joy it gives me.
